Error 04. Need to cut power to reset unit
« on: 21 Jun 2012, 05:05 pm »
Hi, after upgrading my BDP-1 to the latest firmware I am experiencing random lockups when the player is idle after playing some tracks. The screen reads Error 04 and the software revision. If I power off then I cannot power on the unit. It stays off. I have to cut power (say unplug the power cord) and then the BDP-1 can be turned on. This did not happen with the previous version of the firmware. The problem has happened twice in the last 4 days.

How can this be fixed?

Hi

Error 4 is Analog Power Supply too low - can you try a different wall plug?

Does it still occur if you unplug any hard drives that are connected to the BDP-1 while playing audio from a usb drive?

Hello James,
I get it now. The BDP-1 is connected to a PS Audio P10 Power Regenerator. I checked it's log and there was indeed a drop of input voltage for which the P10 could not compensate so I guess that's the reason for the Error 04 on the BDP-1. Thanks
