I count 5dB only, from 92dB in 400Hz to 97dB at 3kHz.

Yes sorry! I edited my post while you were posting, it seems. Still, it's enough that you would want it flattened, and an unsmoothed measurement would most likely look rather less impressive. It's hard to know without an independent measurement.

Let me revise that, without editing this time :) The driver still shows the presence peak, whether or not you (or anyone) would want to flatten it really just depends.

Why this graphic would be flattened by the factory??

If it was made this chart is fake.

BOB,
This fullrange seems absent from this peaky in the 1k - 3K range.

Do you think this freq chart is fake??

And the peak output is where?

From 400Hz to 3kHz it up just 4 or 5 dB, could you be more clearer??

I'm not quite sure what you mean there. If you mean that the chart is "optimistic" because of smoothing, that's fairly common.

However, I guess I don't really understand the point. Overall, the 12P is flatter. But this is all "bench racing" - are you looking to buy new drivers?

Iam not saying anything, Iam asking.
The graph of impedance is compatible with the graph of freq and shows no cone break in any freq, which seems to be too good to be true.
Iam no buying driver now.

Why are we debating a singe plot on a single driver? The plot is severely smoothed but shows an absolute peak in the area of the normal breakup of an 8" driver. What is your point?

Good work Dave!
So... How do they compare to your other Fonkens?
What's the verdict?

Although they look like a FAST-system on your picture?

They are a fine speaker. A significant step up from the metal version IMHO. Big, dynamic, more DDR.

Chris gets all the credit for the woodwork.

You see them on the woofTs we made for the EL70 Mar-Kel (not connected). They don't go as low as EL70 or A10.2, and given the set of compromises i prefer to live with, i'd rather have either of thosem but any of them would make me happy.

Currently listing to uFonkenSET with woofTs (sort of the miniMe version of what is pictured above)
