BDP1 & Crestron remote
« on: 27 May 2012, 11:57 am »
Hello,

Just asked James about it, he will look at it(thank you James!).

Anyone from here controls the bdp1 with a Crestron remote? I am about to make a new programming and my installer cannot find the crestron module for it. For the sp3 we are good though!
Thanks in advance for our help!

You can get a Bryston remote that mimics the front panel controls, can the Crestron learn that?

Hi,

Does your installer plan on controlling it via IR, Serial or Network?

Cheers,
Chris

The BR2 remote control is available (see Accessories in Other Productsin on the Bryston web site)
http://bryston.com/products/other/BR2.html
It's rather expensive for what you'll be getting out of it though.
To tell you the truth, you're better off with a iPAD, iPhone or iPod touch and use either the free mPOD or the paid for mPAD
http://www.katoemba.net/makesnosenseatall/mpad/
If you have an Android phone, you can use that instead but I haven't seen the Droid interface so I can't comment on that.
I use mPAD and I'm very happy with that.

Hi,

If yor crestron setup has a network interface it would be possible to use the crestron to control the bdp.  If your interested I can post some basic stuff.

IR is the only way to control power for the bdp-1, IR and the triggers on the back.

Also I believe crestron has an app available fOr iPhone/iPad to use them as a crestron panel.

I'll post the rs232 and ir codes Monday once I get into work.

Cheers,
Chris

Thank you! I am also using mpad, i am also very happy with the new max2!
I simply want to use one remote for my system! Hopefully my installer will work something out.

Thank you Chris,

Yes it has network interface, thank you in advance for posting both codes, i will give them to my installer. For the power I guess that I will use the triggers and turn it on at the same time with the SP3.

Cheers,
