White cone, gold phase plug.. not very attractive, imo.

I find them (the new ones) to be sexy!

That's because they have light grey cones with copper phase plugs, not white cones with gold phase plugs!

Oh, you got me. I'm going to recalibrate my laptop screen while I watch my show. Either way don't care for either. Both look pretty stodgy.

Not a problem, plenty of other drivers in the stream to "drink" from. (I can't believe my comment made such a hubbub. Either old men or old women).

Ahh.. if only someone could invent some sort of acoustically transparent cloth "cover" or "grill"' we could save the strain from having to avert our eyes :)

To me it doesn't make much difference how my speakers look as I tend to listen with my ears and with my eyes closed anyway.

To many speakers are built with fancy pants endangered rain forest woods only to add to the final price.

The SEAS drivers, implemented correctly, provide some of the most clean, accurate sound reproduction available.  They will clearly expose the electronics connected to them for what they are.  If you have a quality signal supplying the input, one will be rewarded with outstanding  sounding music.

There is a very good reason so many manufactures use them in their designs. They deserve the highest quality parts for the crossover available.

I agree, my Dynaco A150's (same as A25's for all practical purposes), have SEAS drivers and sound pretty darn good with my Dynaco ST-70, even better with my Marantz's.  I can only imagine how good the modern ones sound, especially with the advancements in cabinet design and x/o's.

I'm sure they sound amazing but there is something very old fashioned in how they look. White cone, gold phase plug.. not very attractive, imo. I know they perform very well but they look like old man drivers. Grandpa's speakers.
Maybe they should be made to look more like children's drivers.  Like this.

I likes it!  If they would combine the red molded cone with Yamaha's Natural Ear shape, they would really be on to something!

Ear shaped!      I love vintage engineering gimmicks; I've never seen this before.
