Hi James,
Has there been any more talk of you folks manufacturing your own headphone cables for the BHA1?

Hi Mark,

No other than we said we would be happy to modify the standard 1/4 inch phone jack plugs on most headphones to the 4 pin or 3 pin balanced connections the BHA-1 will allow for.

There seems to be quite an industry out there that does offer more elaborate cables for headphones though!

What is the advantage, if any ,to changing from the 1/4 inch plug?

Hi,

As long as the headphone cable has 4 wires you can then run the headphones Balanced through the front 4 pin or 3 pin x2 XLR connectors.  The BHA-1 also has balanced XLR's on the rear as well.

But why bother? :? Does this have to do with better noise rejection?

Yes (common mode noise rejection) and each channel is totally independent as well.  Also there is some extra DB's of gain (12) if you need it with difficult to drive phones.

I have the AKG 701's. All I need to do is get the plug changed (assuming there's enough wires) to realize this effect?. Thanks James for  your input.... :thumb:

Okay, thanks for the update James. Yes, i currently have the Cardas XLR headphone cable and have had great results when compared to the 1/4 inch plug designs.
