When I had HT3's, the best sounding amp on them was the BAT VK-600SE. Other good amps on the HT3's include: McCormack DNA-500, Dodd 120's, CI Audio D200's, and Moscode 401HR
What have I been telling all you guys for years!?!
I know, I know. You were right. Any suggestions are welcome, by the way. I want something transparent with plenty of reserve power that will not color the sound. I may be moving to that EE MiniMax Plus DAC, so I'll use that to flavor the sound if necessary. My top choices are something from AVA, the Parasound A21 and the Wyred4Sound ST500. Thoughts anyone? Sorry to detail the thread. I can start my own if necessary.
If the A21 is close to the performance level of the A51, I would take it over the AVA and Wyred options. But that is just my opinion.George
I can somewhat answer both questions. I owned a Butler 2250 for a while, but ultimately I sold it because of what it did to the bass, which was gave it a sloppy, fat sound. It wasn't the fast, quickly decaying bass I knew I preferred. The high's were also slightly too soft for my ears, but YMMV.
