This may be a dumb question, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. If I choose to run my Touch wired, do I still hook it to the router or directly to the computer

Connect to the router.

Its simple, just connect 1 cable computer > router.
and another cable router > Squeezebox Touch.

Yeah, router.  My Touch and desktop are on the opposite side of the room from the low voltage panel for the house.  I run 2 lines to the rack, one for the Touch ad one for the desktop.  The desktop finds the Touch via the router connection and if using a computer screen with the desktop to run the Logitech Media Server then you are all set to use the computer to play tunes and surf at the same time.
