You mean PCIe video card? or actually the USB dongle?

As for IDE connection, probably better off getting a IDE to SATA adapter, they start around $10.

A PC is just a tool, what do you plan to use yours for?

Hard core gaming with 3 monitors and a SSD drive for super fast load times?
Video processing with 8TB storage?
Home theater entertainment center?
Email, web surfing, youtube, skype?

Each use determines which CPU, how much memory, graphics card requirements and how much power you need. Use a calculator to make sure you have enough:

Save $10-$20 with newegg's cpu & motherboard combo deals.

And if your existing power supply will work double check to see if it has the right number of connectors for your motherboard and graphics card.

I'm reminded of the old saying about how you cannot help someone who won't help themselves.

More information is needed:

  • Intended use of the PC?
  • Budget? (!)
  • Current components that will be (or that want to be) reused? _LIST_ them.
  • What operating system will be run? Will the currently installed OS be reused? Is it 64 or 32-bit?

Most people asking for advice would understand know how to answer these questions and would even be happy to do so. I'd be surprised by more than a ten word answer from this guy.

I looked at ASUS's, Tiger Direct, and New Egg's site; all of them make it difficult to search for onboard IDE. I really wish I could get more of what I have because it's good enough for my purpose; I don't play games with it.

I'm willing to pull out the credit card and buy (not one but two) setups; I'm willing to pay for the super-dooper motherboard if need be. I would like two IDE (like my old one) but if it only has one I'll deal with it.

Now, can you point out an ASUS ATX (not micro) motherboard with onboard IDE and at least 4 slots for memory?

That rampage seems interesting; to bad it's not available on both New Egg and Tiger Direct.

What's the difference in the processor types (Intel)?

I need an Asus P5Q SE PLUS or similar.

If you just want another ASUS LGA 775 motherboard, there are still some available. This microATX sized board will fit fine within an ATX case.

If you want another ASUS P5Q board, you can probably find one used and from someone upgrading their system, or else find a new old stock board on eBay.

Bought new ASUS motherboard with all the fixin's, Blu-Ray ROM, I TB drive, new P/S, and an IDE card; got it working but still have to finish the details.

Probably going to sell the old motherboard and get a second new setup.
