There are a lot of older products I am discontinuing because I run out of circuit boards. I buy boards in large batches in order to make things cost effective. Some products don't sell so much anymore, so when the boards run out, so does the product. It's the old "market window" thing. Some products don't live forever, others do. For example, the HAGUSB is a bit obsolete now since most everyone moved to 24/96. It was a fantastic product and still holds its own, but the market doesn't want it anymore.
On the other side is the CORNET and BUGLE. They seem to be a bit more timeless in their design and purpose.
I've also had to take on a second job, so the new products are not coming so rapidly. The last, I think was the FRYCORDER. Presently I've been sidetracked a bit working on a gieger counter radiation detector. It's pretty cool and I have the first prototype halfway up and running. The firmware is a bitch, but at least I can get it to turn on and off.
Anyway, shop is not closing. Not for another 20 years, anyway. Time is the issue. There just isn't enough of it to fill all the existing orders and make a lot of new stuff. Design takes a long time. I spent a year on the VacuTrace, Then another year for Trumpet. That's just the way it is.
After I get this radiation detector out, we'll be back to audio. Maybe it's time for the C3. I also have a paper design for a nuvistor compressor guitar pedal. And an 806 push pull amp designed specifically to drive Magnepan 1.7s...
