I can get to the BDP-1 homepage through internet explorer, google chrome on my PC and safari with my ipod.  Max, mini and vfp are working with google chrome and safari but cannot get to the settings, give me server error (using bryston as user & pwd).  With internet explorer mini, max and vfp does not work but I can get to the settings page, strange.  Mpod on my ipod touch work fines except I can't get to save a playlist.  What I need to do to make it work in google chrome and safari.  Thanks.

Explorer does not work. Use chrome or safari or Firefox.

Mpod and mpad only work on Apple products iPhone iTouch iPad

Save the playlist in Bryston Max if the others do not work. The Playlist once saved will show up in all interfaces.

Hi Gil

It must be a network issue then. If the BDP-1 plays the songs then all else is a network issue.

Gil,

On your PC - make sure you have BONJOUR for WINDOWS loaded (free program) or use Safari as it downloads Bonjour automatically when you download the Safari browser.

Hi James,
I have bonjour on my pc.  What should I look for in the network to be configure.  I can run the mini and max application from the homepage, would it mean that the network sees the bdp-1.  When I open the my computer on my PC I see the BDP-1 with all the drive connected to it and can copy and paste file from the different usb drive on the bdp-1.  Does this confirm that the network works.

Max and Mini area Web-based interfaces whereas mpad and mpod are Applications so they communicate with your network a little differently. What interface do you want to use most of the time?

There is another PC app called Gnome you can try as well

James,
I use my ipod with mpod as a remote.  It is to get to the settings of the bdp-1 and running it from my pc that I find impactical because to go to settings I have to use internet exporer to go to settings (mini, max ect doens't work there), and go to google chrome to be able to use mini, max to control it from my computer.  Would like to be able to use either one to be able to control it or go to the settings as I find it very impractical to have to swith from two browser to get thihngs done.

OK so lets get mPod working.

Have a look at this and it shows how to setup ipod.

If bryston-bdp-1.local does not work then use the IP address on the front display of the BDP-1.

Try this on your PC.

Tried it on my Windows 7 laptop and XP desktop with very good results interfacing with
the BDP-1.

http://gmpclient.org/installation

Just install the GMPC part 0.20.0

My ipod is set as you suggest, and mpod is working fine except for saving a playlist.  Using safari on my ipod to go to bdp-1 homepage no problem except for the settings icon that give me an error (mini 2 works).  I only have an issue with the settings icon in safari (on ipod)and google chrome (pc using vista).  My connection to the bdp-1 to my router I use a D-link powerline dhp-307.  My main concern is getting to the settings of the bdp-1 from the homepage. Thanks

Need help!  I have install firefox and not able to get to bryston homepage either with the ip address or bryston-bdp-1.local.  With google chrome I reach the homepage, open mini, max and mini2 but am unable to save a playlist with all of them.  I have tried to see if my network had a problem but I think I don't have enough knowledge on network configuration to fix the problem.  My computer is runnig on vista. The BDP-1 works great and plays all the music file I connect to it.

Hi Gil,

Firefox is just another browser so it will not fix the playlist issue - I use Chrome with no issues - the playlist has to be saved in the APP not the browser.

Maybe describe the steps you are using to save the playlist in MAX

Wil try with chrome tonight to save a playlist with Max and will write down the steps.  In mpod for the coverart, there is a setting to enter a URL and filenames (folder.jpg), what should I use for the url.  All my music files on my drives are set to music/artist/album/song file & folder.jpg.  I have it set presently to bryston-bdp-1/music.  Thanks.

Hi James,
Here the step I follow to save playlist in Max.  Open google chrome, go to bryston homepage, open Max, go to music library and choose a drive, open up the music folder, choose an artist then a album, click on songs to add to the playlist at right, click on save playlist then enter a name in the dialog box hit ok.  Then hit playlist at the left and nothing happens, could not find any playlist that I saved.

That is very strange as I just did 2 Playlists myself the same way and they are there immediately.  Maybe try reloading the software or try a different program other than the MAX - try MINI.

Hi,

Can you still make a playlist in mPad? Currently I'm experiencing this playlist problem in Max too, but mPad is working as expected. Look at the Max lost contact thread.

Only change I made was loading more music, maybe James, is there a max mb limit to the max software?
