..... I just discussed it with my wife and she told me that the last time see wanted to watch a dvd the SP2 hangs after 10 minutes, she had to put the whole power off and after that she could listen for 10 minutes and after that it hangs again.......
I have to admit that the SP2 isn't robust in the face of signal errors.
My Bell satellite set top box causes my SP2 to hang at least once a night when watching TV. The problem occurs when the STB sends an corrupted signal to the SP2. The display can indicate various things, such as DialNorm +14 or whatever, but the sound stops and the SP2 is frozen until I reboot it.
I'm quite use to it, but always had hoped that Bryston would beef up their firmware to take care of this type of problem. Set top boxes are the worse culprits for transmitting garbage and suffering dropouts once in a while, but a processor should always be able to recover. My cheap $800 Denon receiver handles them like a champ. It just doesn't sound as good as the SP2. I doubt much work is being done on the SP2 these days - so I'll live with it.
Hoiman, I suspect your source is the problem with these hang ups. I would have said that even if it was with one SP2. But after two units are enjoying the same problem - not a chance. You've got questionable software feeding less than robust software.
