OK...here is my setup....SB Touch Analog outs to Integrated Tube amp to speakers-clean, simple.
The files I have are 24/176 and the SB chokes and says "It can't play them back, file not supported".
 The files are Flac as are all mine... whats tripping me up??

The SB should be converting the 24/176 to 24/88 I believe on the fly so your dac shouldn't be the problem. This may be a good question for AC disc less circle. For people who actually know what's going on with the darn thing.

The topic has been discussed before.

In order for the SOX resampler to function you should have your server set to stream as FLAC NOT PCM.

Hello Wayne,

I also have this problem.  can you tell me exactly where I find this option to change to FLAC?  I have looked at all the menus on the squeezebox software but don't see it there.  My PM's don't work but you can send me email at DZetye@aol.com or just post here.  I would really appreciate the assistance.  I am kind of a newbee at this stuff and don't want to start experimenting with settings if everything else is Ok already.  Thanks.

The new look server software is hanging me up too, is this setting on the server made at the Touch itselfs settings with the remote control or is it a server thing where we have to open a web page and play because the new server software is completely different now...

The changes have to be made to the server software on the server itself, not on or through the Touch.

I have not thoroughly explored the new Media server at this time. I have some mods to finish today. If I get a chance I'll look through the server software tonight. Maybe someone else who has the time can find the settings.

You might check the soundcheck mods page. I believe he suggests setting the server to PCM for better sound. Unfortunately that setting defeats the SOX downsampling.

Guys, pull up your Squeezebox console, go to advanced tab (web based interface/ advanced settings)

then once there, go to advanced and do a pulldown on "file types"





Although I haven't used Squeezebox server in years, I still got it!

My interface is displaying some weird version of ipeng and I can't get to any settings to change the interface so I can access settings....should I reinstall?? Will that give me the default interface???

Ed, reread my post please.  Fire up control panel, then under the advanced tab do NOT do "web remote control"!  Do "advanced settings" (the button below it)





Then, if the interface is not to your liking change it to default.

Thats what I was trying to write, I did all that and it opens to some interface like ipeng and displays incorrectly so I can't get to the settings to change interface to default.

 I uninstalled server and reinstalled an older version 7.5.5 and now everything plays back fine and I can get around the settings interface. I totally understood what you were saying earlier. My interface opened to a half baked version of ipengs small display in the corner of my browser and I could not make it go away..

Rclark- actually it's not that bad when you have these guys to ask a question too....they fixed it immediately it was I that struggled on my end because of a dumb move made out of sheer boredom to try and change the look.

Before I got on the SB bus with these guys I knew a little, talking with these guys has taught me alot. I asked Pez first (thanks Pez by the way-a good idea this.) and he suggested the circle, problem solved inside of an hour while I went to get food these guys solved the problem and politely told me to "stay focused" and they were right all the way around. Don't worry about the little crap...crank it up!!!
