We bought our RM2's without having ever heard any VMPS speakers before. But this was only
after reading just about every post from those who had heard the various models of VMPS
speakers in the VMPS forum at Harmonic Discord and here for close to two years.
It became obvious after awhile that these many long-time stereo enthusiasts (many of whom
had heard and/or owned many other high-end speakers that cost much more than VMPS speakers)
couldn't all be wrong.

And they were all saying much the same thing. That the VMPS
speakers were either the best they had ever heard, or there were maybe one or two other
high-end speaker models they had heard that might be in the same league, but they all cost
vastly more than the VMPS speakers. And so, with this mountain of evidence, we decided
we were virtually guaranteed to really like the VMPS's.
We ordered a pair of RM2's and have been thrilled with them ever since we first heard them.
We have the sound coat, bi-amp toggle switch removed, megawoofer and FST tweeter upgrade
options on these RM2's.
The sound quality is just superb, you won't believe the level of detail
in the sound! The voices and instruments come alive with a realistic nuanced sound
the likes of which I have never heard before on any other speakers. For example,
a saxophone wasn't just some "sound" coming from the speakers any more, you could hear the
air flowing through it, like a living breathing instrument. We could even hear the
plungers (not sure what the correct term is) on sax's topping out (hitting the upper
limits of their travel) as the musician's fingers released them.
This is the kind of detail and realism I'm talking about. It's the closest thing
to having the musicians in the room I have ever heard. And the sound is so sweet and smooth,
not harsh at all. But the RM2's are not rolling off the highs at all to achieve that
smoothness, it's just that they play the highs (and the mids) in such an effortless
silky smooth way. Very easy on the ears.

And the bass... The RM2's have incredibly powerful bass available on demand, and yet
also delicate and precise bass. Delivering what is asked for, and no more. These things
can handle music bass no problem. And for movies, WOW. Low, accurate and LOUD,
perfect for demanding DVD action movies.

I don't think you can go wrong with VMPS speakers. Everything you have read about them
here on the forum is true. They are *that* good. I can personally confirm that after
hearing them myself for many hours.
