At 105 db sensitivity you could blow up your house with the 28's

I don't know about you, but that's what I'm trying to achieve.

Had a little incident with my new 7B's yesterday which had me a little nervous and angry to say the least.

We've got a new cat and she's been settling in OK over the last week, well so I thought anyway, I came home yesterday to find a couple of piles of no2's, no problem I thought, soon clear that up, but whilst clearing that away I also noticed that the fronts of my 7B's were a little wet, she'd only somehow weed on both 7B's, right where the power buttons are  :shake:

I panicked and wiped away the moisture but it looked to have stained the surface of the amps, we tried a little furniture polish but you could see were the wee was as it had matted the sheen, luckily my wife come up with the idea of using a little washing up liquid, bingo the stains were miracously gone, phew, now all I had to do was see if they still worked, I wasn't sure if Brystons 20yr warranty covered such issues.

Anyway after a moments hesitation I tried powering up both 7B's and to my relief they still both work perfectly, well done Bryston for making such strong amps  :thumb:

I still can't figure out though how she managed to hit both amps though   :dunno:

I don't trust cats. They seem to like destroying expensive things.

Suffice it to say that the putty cat is not a fan of Bryston audio equipment…

Glad to hear that no permanent damage was done; what I would be very concerned about is that once something is “marked,” a return visit is often likely. Some pet stores sell a “stay away” type product that keeps our furry friends away from “no-go” areas.

Be well...

You may have to teach the cat to re-learn a few habits.  That requires some effort but it is not the end of the world.

For now, I would try to get plexiglass covers for the amps.

I wasn't sure if Brystons 20yr warranty covered such issues.

I doubt that any warranty would cover such an event... but house-contents insurance definitely does, I know from a similar experience.

Any news on your BDP-1 yet? I can confirm that it is well worth the wait...

Cheers for the comments guys, I particularly like James CAT-astrophe and Naps Cat Carrier  :D  although I don't think Mrs Vipers would approve of that one.

Hi Russell, no news on the BDP-1 yet unfortunately, I've been onto PMC, but there seems to be a little confusion so James is looking into it for me, I don't think I've ever been this excited about a piece of Hi Fi before, the wait is killing me.

Fantastic looking setup!
How long did it take to put together?
Whats rack/speakers/TT and other gear in the rack?

Thanks guys, It didn't actually take too long to put together tbh, I didn't get my first piece of Bryston kit until May this year, a 4B SST2, quickly followed by the BCD-1 and BP26, still using my PMC EB1i speakers, then in a moment of madness I went for 2 x 7B SST2's, the PMC MB2i speakers and the BDP-1, no regrets though as thanks to Bryston and PMC this setup it has re-awaken my love for music :D

The TT is a Michell Orbe and the rack is hand made by a small UK company called HiFi racks, great quality.
