So, the 7B is the better deal?
I'm not sure if these are the official U.S. retail prices, but Audio Advisor lists the 7BSST
2 at $4595 ($9190 for a pair) versus the 14BSST
2 at $8695. That would be a difference of $495, only a 5.7% premium.
With the 7BSST
2 having an advantage in twice the power supply storage capacitance and the ability to have shorter speaker cables, they would certainly have the technical advantage for not much more money. On the other side of the coin, it would depend if you can acommodate the extra space of a second amplifier and whether you cared about consuming twice the power at idle.
