Wind,

You know its those finicky laws of physics that you're up against.  You can't have efficiency, deep bass, and small size.  The Hawthorne Silver Iris are the closest I've found to having it all, but as open baffles they thrive in larger rooms, lots of of open space around them, and need to sit on the floor.

Like Bemo and Wolfy stated, even listening at low volume (like I do) the extra muscle improves control of the drivers and adds dynamics.

Good listening.

Jeff,

There's two options (both from GR Research) I'm considering that will give me a better balance of both efficiency and bass but in a much bigger package. :|  IMO and experience, high efficiency and dynamics go hand in hand.  But in the end it's always a compromise as something has to give from the choices one makes.

Oh, and as for power... more is always nice.  But having owned a number of flea amps, 25 watts x 2 is quite a step up from the output of 2A3 - which seemed like a muscle amp compared to the Decware Zen etc.
