Are you using the digital out puts of the BCD-1 to your BDA-1

Robert

hi, Rob!

yes. the BCD is completely connected to the BDA. my BDA's unbalanced analog outs are connected with the soundcard of my computer. so if i want to make some recordings every digital source has to pass the BDA. at first i thought that i should use the BCD's unbalanced outs for cd recording instead of the external converter's outs in order to get the lowest jitter signal. but as James already said the differences are slightly and so i am using the BDA's outs. and not to forget it's more comfortable...if i want to use another digital source i would have to switch again and again and again between the cdp and the converter. and i don't really want to do that.

having all the BCD's outputs connected with the BDA and the preamp gives me the freedom to listen to a cd during a record from another source.

and in most cases when playing a cd i am using the analog balanced mode.

right on 1oldguy. Why didn't you but a bda-1 as an alternative source?, even for a different room. throw a laptop on it or some other device.

I thought you'd dismantled your system? What's the player hooked up to?

My System is the same one I've had for the last 15 years....Very basic...Kenwood Receiver and an old pair of Sony Speakers.

Hi Al,

The digital out from the BCD1 into the BDA-1 would still be resampled and reclocked by the BDA-1 so theoretically the jitter will be slightly more. Which proves my point I guess because even with a slight increase in jitter some still like the BCD-1 through the BDA-1 better than the BCD-1 on its own?

james

How about from another manufacturer's player to the BDA-1?
