Hi there,
I'm slowly building my system and need to address the weakest link -- the preamp.
I am using the preamp out plugs from an old Luxman R-113 receiver to route my DAC to a Bryston 2B-LP and then out to Paradigm Studio 20s.
I'm not happy with the Luxman and would like to buy a starter separate preamp.
However, my budget is very limited at the moment so I'm hoping for recommendations for cheap preamps. I'm currently considering something in the range ($150-$300) of a used Rotel or NAD preamp or preamp/tuner. Have also looked at a dedicated volume control (Goldpoint, Axiom) but don't think I'm ready at this stage to give away the possibility of tone controls.
Anyway, I'm clearly a newby and was hoping that perhaps some of you long-term Bryston owners could suggest a temporary, inexpensive preamp that would pair well with the Bryston.
Thanks!
