Or the always funny Monty Python "Dead Parrot" skit.  I would have remembered it sooner if I hadn't always seen it in an altered state.

Peter Cook and Dudley Moore's Bedazzled was released on DVD last year along with The Wrong Box (I've just learned).  The Wrong Box is largely not known to US audiences.  Other than the people I saw it with the only person I know who's seen it is Zack (ZLS).  Like me, he loves it.  British comedies both that are as clever as they are funny.  Bedazzled is available thru Amazon and The Wrong Box is available thru Red Carpet DVD.  All sorts of special appearances by well known actors are featured in these.  Michael Caine, Ralph Ricardson, Peter Sellers, Cook and Moore, of course, and Rachel Welsh as "Lust".  Netflix does not have them.  I looked.  Worth getting, mates!  Hilarious treasures, these.  Brilliant!  Jolly Good!  Quite right!  Cheerio and Post Toasties!

aa    I agree with Jim 100%; Bedazzled and The Wrong Box are two must haves.  They will 'wear" amazingly well.  You can watch them over and over and still enjoy them.

and now for something completely different;
The scene in Airplane where the two African-American gentlemen are speaking Jive (Eubonics) and the Flight Attendant can't understand them so a matronly white lady offers to translate.  She speaks perfect jive; especially at the end where she makes her displeasure known.  This scene is funny on its face, what makes it absolutely hilarious (for those of us of a certain age) is that the actress is Barbara Billingsly who just happened to play June Cleaver the Beav's Mom of Leave It To Beaver.  Leave It To Beaver is quite possibly the whitest show to ever appear on television and that is saying a lot!  Everybody watching that scene had the same thought, " Did the Beav's Mom have a secret life?  Was she getting some on the side?  Is that where she learned to speak Jive?"

A scene that gets me laughing every time I see it (and come December, there are *millions* of chances to see it) is the "Mommy's little piggy!!!" scene in A Christmas Story. Infectious laughter/snorting in that one!

Pretty lowbrow, but almost any scene in Dumb and Dumber.

Whoever said The Producers.....the hippie/hitler audition kills me every time!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkYBJId7WZs

Wow, just read about the actor who played the hippie hitler....apparently he died on stage doing a comedy routine, and the audience thought it was part of the routine at first!

my fav's are woody allen moments:

In Play it Again Sam...when he has his date at home, and sets up his apt...twirls the medal in his hand, and all nervously f's up a record he was trying to play...

In Take The Money and Run, at the beginning when he is in the parade trying to play the cello, advancing with his chair every 3 seconds...

The first 10 minutes or so of Blazing Saddles.  Look at it and realize in sorrow that a movie like that couldn't get made today because of stupid political correctness.

I have two words for you.

Spinal

Tap

And here are a few more words to explain why:

The bigger the cushion
The sweeter the pushin' -
You know what I said.
The bigger the waistband
The deeper the quicksand -
Or so I have read.
My baby fits me like a flesh tuxedo.
I want to sink her with my pink torpedo.

Big Bottom,
Big Bottom,
Talk about bum cakes,
My girl's got 'em!
Big bottom drives me out of my mind
How could I leave this behind?

If I had to pick a scene, I'd choose...ummm...Nigel, working on his "Mach" piece..."simple lines intertwining with lines"...in D Minor ..."the saddest of keys".

To be honest, though, I'm probably influenced by the fact that I watched "This is Spinal Tap" again a couple of nights ago.

Apparently the German band "The Scorpions" tried to sue the producers of Spinal Tap.

They thought it was about them.

Bkat... you are right on about PC ruining movies and making us whiny oversensitive types with little sense of humor. It's also the death of satire in general. How can you use the 3 elements (sarcasm, ridecule and irony) if everyone is so sensitive?

As to movies, Blazing Saddles has too many to count let alone his other movies. How about the street and pie scene with the old lady and the Up Yours line? Or the gay chorus line, Sounds like steam...? Monty python is the same way, Argument sketch, dead parrot, english military and dental association, lumberjack sketch, how to defend yourself with a banana...? I could go on and on but two more MP sketches, the black Knight with the cut off body parts and the holy hand grenade of antioch with the bunny.

2 personal favorites yet to be mentioned, Silver Streak (the bathroom makeup scene and the sheriff and car steal scene with Richard Pryor. Also the original In laws with Falk and Arkin, "Serpentine", the car paint scene, being shot at the airport and Libertini's art collection!!!

I acn't believe no one has mentioned the scene in Bruce Almighty where Jim Carrey is playing the Puppet master and making Steve Carell do some of the most hilarious things while attempting to newscast.  That made me cry and fart at the same time.

How about "The Big Lebowski," the scene when Jeff Bridges is driving his car down a street while trying to light a joint. The joint falls into his lap and he starts careening down the road as he fumbles for the joint. My wife thought I was crazy I was laughing so hard.
Maybe you had to be there but that movie has quite a few.
Okay, how about "Raising Arizona," when Nicolas Cage is robbing the convenience store with the stocking on his head. The ensuing chase is as funny as it get's.

The five minutes of Steve Martin's "monkey boy" scam with Michael Cain in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels gets my vote.

"Your Trident sir?"

Ah yes, Ruprecht

Very obscure Brit flick called "Whoops!  Apocalypse!!
Brit Prime Minister gets hit in head,  and to a shocked cabinet proclaims he is SuperMan and disbands the army and navy.  While they are dumbfounded his dog wanders in, so the PM says "Pluto, it's time for your walk" and throws him out the window.  'bout pissed in my pants!
This flick is a social and political satire (late 70's/early 80's style) that takes no prisoners.  John Cleese is in it.  If you like Monty P. you'll love it.
There was a US version nowhere near as good. Loretta Swit was the US president in that version.
And of course Blazing Saddles, Frankensteen, and Cheech with the horse brush.  Laughed so hard I thought I'd broken a rib.

The most memberable funny scene I can think of is "The Misbehavers" scene from "Four Rooms". For me, Impossible to sit through without nearly uncontrollable laughter.

I also like the "Roman Moronie" scenes from "Johnny Dangerously".

Enjoy,

And a little....Up In Smoke...... :rotflmao:

There was a scene in The Corsican Brothers where Cheech is grooming a horse and a carriage with a babe comes by.  He turns to nonchalantly rest against the horse and his hand goes deep in the horses ass.

He pulls it out without the brush, after the carriage passes he has to reach back in elbow deep to retrieve it. :duh:

Yes, I can remember that... hurt my belly for hours after!!!
