I have a question on the Build plans for the OB-7.  I'm about to (finally) start making sawdust on my OB-7's (finished the 4 AV/1-RS a month ago :) and as I look at the plans I'm slightly confused.

Solid B (the top) and Solid A (the bottom) shows as 8" wide on the cut list.  On the front page of the plan though it shows A as being as wide as the front Bezel but B fitting between the sides rather than being as wide as the Bezel.  I'm assuming that the drawing is wrong and that Solid B should indeed be 8" wide and as such sit on top of the two sides rather than between them.  (A belief backed up by some of Nicks pictures in this thread).

However if you look at the side view on page 2 of the plans, if I make Solid B 8” wide then the sides need to be cut 29.75 tall so that they fit between A & B with the spacing of the braces as shown.

So it looks like I should either make Sold B 6.5” wide or Sides 29.75 tall.  Am I misreading the plans?

By the way, I’m not planning on doing the slant for Solid B.

   Thanks,

You are correct and you can do them either way.

If you are slanting the back then make the sides come up over the Solid "B" brace. Once it is in place you can use a jig saw to trim away most of the excess then run a router around it with a flush cut bit to make it perfectly fit the angled top panel.
