I have a set of the myrtlewood footers with the brass bearing inserts that I picked up at RMAF and they're quite nicely made.  Unfortunately, I think the felt pads on the bottoms probably defeat any of the coupling properties.

I just read in another circle where another AC person advised to order them without the felt.  The felt can be removed.

Removing the felt pads is not really a pain at all, although in the future, when my current supply runs out, all sets will be shipped with pads unmounted. Until then, just give them a good pull and take the glue residue off with oops, thinner, or remover. Remember though, the sound may be too lively for your system so think about what your system needs first.
