If I had those same speaker posts on my 100watt tube monoblock amps playing into sensitive low distortion full range speakers I would easily be able to hear the difference. Maybe not as obvious upgrading from the already good enough ones on AVA equipment to cardas all copper rhodium plated, less bang for the buck. I know that the posts on the Moscode amp are incredible, easily as good as anything in the aftermarket. Large, machined solid copper, knurled, easy to use. I used to have a link for aftermarket seller of them, but can't find it now, my point is they are not cheap! AVA is built to a price, it's not trying to be a Ferrari, instead focused on superb value.

All this would be fine if these things were ever spoken of or treated as "subtle tweaks."  But no one EVER says "the machined solid knurled copper rhodium plated posts made a subtle difference in my sound quality, which my subtle speakers [not to mention the rest of my - what, reference grade? - equipment] were capable of revealing."  Because your sources had better be tip-top, too, I would think.  Not only that, how the heck does anyone KNOW how these particular posts "sound" on the Moscode amp? Other than maybe George Kaye I suppose, who might have ever heard a Moscode amp without them.  A signal passes through conductive material on its way from one component to the next.  Gold vs. copper.  Or silver.  I'm to believe the solid copper half-inch along a circuit will provide a more transparent midrange and extended highs, as opposed to, you know, the actual quality of the amplification of the signal doing those things.  It's just an awful lot to believe.  Not that there may not be some very slight differences.  I assume there are, though I doubt I could hear them reliably (I mean, what if the refrigerator suddenly cut on?).  But people tend to speak in terms of good vs. bad here.

Just so we are clear...

I haven't heard other binding posts, rca inputs, etc... on the Moscode amp.  My guess is that George Kaye probably did try different binding posts and decided that one sounded better than the rest and the choice wasn't purely from an ergonomics standpoint.

I have heard the difference changing these parts has had on other amps and preamps (in some cases directly comparing identical products except for the changed piece)

Do these changes transform the product into sounding totally different?  Of course not.

Can they make a change in the sound that can be heard by those of us without "golden ears"?  Yes

I do think we all (I know I am certainly guilty of) sometimes use certain superlatives or adjectives in order to express our opinions that can make some differences seem more imapctful than they really are.  I will try and put things into better context so that it is clear when there is a big impact vs. a subtle difference.

I don't think apologizing for going slightly off topic is really necessary. (Maybe Paris Hilton is beyond the pale.) If a moderator wants to police/delete these posts he's welcome to.  I'm gonna talk about/debate whatever interests me with whomever responds, along whatever related tangents, and I don't acknowledge that doing so is a sign of disrespect to any particular person or to the spirit of this website.  And I notice that this thread, which was started by someone other than George/Zybar, went immediately off the topic of strictly Moscode vs. AVA. Since we're talking about audio chains this is only ever bound to happen I reckon.

Rich, your reply WAS helpful to me, my taking issue with some of it notwithstanding. Sorry if I came across as overly contentious. But the fact is, I AM overly contentious.

Well, I guess I should respond to what amp I actually ended up purchasing for my system.  I ended up keeping my Reimer Tetons after being rather disappointed in trying out a pr. of Silverline Sonata III's (too bright for me).  Earlier, I had purchased a Blue Circle BC-32 multi-channel amp (ss) for HT use and found that it went well with the Tetons.  I went out on a limb and bought a used hybrid Blue Circle BC-28: tube input, SS output 120 w/ch into 8 ohms and 200w/ch into 4 ohms.  I have listened to this amp only a few hours with the stock Electro Harmonix 6922's using my AVP2 pre/pro, but so far it is very nice.  I also bought some NOS Amperex Holland 6922's from the seller of the amp that I have yet to try.

I have on order the basic 11A preamp from SAS Audio that Steve Samett was advertising her on AC a short time ago.  I should be getting it some time next week.  Steve has put about 100 hours on it so far, so it is somewhat broken in.  I heard Steve's early prototype 4-chassis 11A pre a few years ago at Audiojerry's place.  IIRC, compared to the 10A, it was quite a bit more transparent.  If anybody is interested, I'll let you know what my listening impressions are in the next few weeks.
