The thing is, you could easily keep the 626r's, spend around $200 have a great HT system and a great 2 channal system. By getting rid of the 626r's ht and 2 channel will be impacted negatively. He must just want to get rid of the 626r's because the HT rational doesn't make much sense.

I think he's just less experienced than most of us.  We've all done things similar I'm sure.

I think he is trying to muster up some advertising for potential buyers for his pair of speakers.  I noticed they are still on the block, and walmarting them with price drops everyday.  Oh well, his loss, someones inexpensive gain.

Actually I was almost convinced to keep them and pick up a lackluster HT setup but then I was emailed by a circle member who made me an offer on an HT package that I couldnt pass up.

The price wont be getting any lower on the 626r's.

Why would you pick up a lackluster HT setup, when the 626r's could easily be part of a great setup for very little extra money?

He said he just got a new TV.  You have to think back and remember when you got all excited over 5.1 to 7.1 HT set up with all the Dolby and all that processed jazz.   He wants to justify spending money on man toys by rationalizing that its for the kids and the family.  Two channel is tougher to do that.

Good luck with the HT set up and enjoy the new found fun while it lasts.  Make sure you look into entertaining but educational DVDs and don't spend a fortune on Disney and Dreamworks.  The best thing for children is interaction with engaged parents -- not Simba.

I bought these.  Of course, I'm very excited and we'll be keeping them "in fhe family" as they say.  And, I'm joining a new family.  My new place has room for two systems, and these will be the centerpiece of the living room setup.

I'd just like to thank my mom, who never lost faith, even when I was in prison, and my girlfriend who brought me brownies, and my publicist for all the nice things she says, and Jacko for giving me inspiration and. . .

What did you use for acoustic treatment in the cell?   I thought you were going with Vinnie/Loius path, but welcome to the new family.  What are you going to use to drive these?  I am curious if a battery powered amp(s) will drive these.

Newspaper balled up actually has nice acoustic properties.  It doesn't soften the concrete enough, but definitely an improvement.

I haven't left the Vinnie/Zu family at all.  My big rig is down in the basement and there it will stay.

These speaks seem like a great combination of WAF (big deal in the living room), and all the cool stuff I'm looking for.  I've heard these described as having electrostat-type speed and single-driver-like capabilities, which of course I absolutely need to be happy.

This system is serviceable, but is definitely in transition.  I've got a stock Teac that will be undergoing surgery at some point, but I don't have a pre for it yet.  Right now, my 15-year-old Technics CDP is running to an Audiolab integrated to my homebrew Fostex speakers.  Funny - the wife doesn't understand the beauty of self-creation and Demands the Fostexes Banished.  I can't live without the pop, so enter VMPS.

I also have two Clari-T amps that will be seeing some time with these.

I'm very excited.  The wife, though knowing me, has no idea how complex it can be to build another system.

I got a pair on ARC pre and amp.  My wife is saying the amp is taking too much room in her office.  I am going in on the UcD400 kit and will try that but in the mean time let me know how you find Clari T's on these.
