Just curious, why this HK vs the 3390 and 3490 which have better specs and power.  The 2 receivers have high peak current at 45amps.  the difference in power is negligible but the 2 receivers are 4 ohm rated vs 6ohm for the one you are looking at.  Plus, they are dedicated 2ch receivers, not an AVR

Convenience, the 1510 is locally available. I'm still open to a TPA amp if the questions surrounding a chassis and power supply. The BS22's should arrive tomorrow. It would be nice have solution in place.

I would still consider the little Dayton DTA-120 T-amp form parts express.  It is on sale for $99 and I believe Parts Express has a good return policy.  It uses a tripath chip and sounds great.  Feed it a good source and you will be rewarded.

BR, my friend from AR days

You really need to buy a TPA3116 and hear it for yourself. I guarantee it absolutely smokes t-amps. I've compared it to the Dayton, Topping and TK2050 with huge Meanwell PS and it's not even close. To say I'm stoked over this $15 miracle amp is putting it mildly.

I would like to hear one but I am not into DIY.

I'm not into DIY either but these are fully assembled working circuits. Essentially all you have to do is plug it in and it will play. It would be nice to have it enclosed but $14 only goes so far. I bought two units (one for back up) and a power supply; with shipping the the total came to $72. Not back for two brand new amplifiers including delivery.

Wind Chaser - Can you post links to what you bought? I am having trouble figuring it out.

Thanks

Two--in case one breaks--of these... http://www.yuan-jing.com/tpa3116-class-d-stereo-amplifier-board-50w-50w
One of these... http://www.yuan-jing.com/ac-dc-adapter-universal-switching-mode-power-supply-smps-24v-5a
And this... http://www.yuan-jing.com/Stereo-RCA-Interconnection-Board

I'll figure out something in the way of an enclosure, most likely plastic, and it will hide behind my CDP and DAC.

Haven't received them yet. They probably won't arrive until early March as I opted for the C&C shipping method.
