I like a dose of liquid metal once in a while (XM Sirius). My collection is littered with the old stuff like Iron Maiden, Megadeth & Metallica (every album), but I find myself listening to a lot more of the newer stuff (yes Gojira), Slipknot, Machine Head, Hatebreed, Killswitch, etc. (and older but still putting out new Opeth, Meshuggah, Lamb of God, etc.).

Now not to be a downer, but if anyone else tunes in to Liquid metal on XM, Mario, who I though was cool host, passed recently. Bummer.

Rob: Did a search on the Metallicus and it looks like it pre-dates me on AC - what's the story on it?

Spun this last night for the first time in a while - still blown away by it. Maybe the most intense 36 minutes in my collection - sets you up with Soldier's Side and then just frickin' pummels you with one frantic, ferocious tune after another and not a pooch in the bunch. All this and it name-drops Tony Danza...

I saw them on the support tour for this album -opening acts were Hella and The Mars Volta. Memorable moment : Daron Malakian telling the the crowd that anybody who hadn't applauded for Hella "had a tiny dick".

New Sepultura lp. Kairos. More rythmic grind than the alt-speed feel of their last lp Alex. Although I really dug Ludvig.
Kinda what I expect/want from sepultura.

Lp reissue of Candlemass's second album. Scored a copy from a retailer who didn't know they were selling over a hundred $$$ now. Sounds very similiar to my original pressing.

Cool,I did not know SEPULTURA had a new one out.I did not like the newer ones but I can listen to Arise forever.
