This post will have a list of links to complete documented open baffle designs that you can (or could) build yourself. Both passive and active (and hybrid) are included. This is for those who want to build but not design.

Please post in this thread if you have a suggestion that is not already here or additional information that should be added to this post. Designs must use currently available drivers to be on the list.


Free designs

• Perry Marshall's OB designs. Several OB designs, some hybrid passive/active, with links for DSP configuration files.
• Hestia OB, an ambitious low cost, 3-way OB design. Passive design published here on AudioCircle. See also Hestia Forte, Hestia-SL, Hestia V.
• Quarter Wavelength Loudspeaker Projects by Martin J. King, includes 3 open baffle projects.
• Troels Gravesen has published a series of open baffle designs.
• The Basic Betsy Open Baffle uses the Betsy OB driver but will probably work with others. A simple way to get started.
• The Manzanita is a low cost simple design that comes in 12" and 15" variants.
• Nelson Pass' Slot Loaded Open Baffle uses an analog active crossover with a schematic provided.

Paid plans

• Plans for Siegfried Linkwitz LX521 are available for purchase from linkwitz.store and Madisound.

Kits

"Kit" has the usual meaning here, meaning complete set of drivers, crossover parts, hardware, and plans. A store where you could buy parts separately does not count. There are not very many but the ones we know of are:

• LX521 designed by Siegfried Linkwitz. Kits from Madisound and linkwitz.store. For background reading see LX521 on Linkwitzlab and also the earlier Orion and Phoenix designs.
  
• GR Research NX-Otica and NX-Treme.

Surprised nobody has mentioned the Lampizator range of Endorphin DIY speakers. Mine are based on an improved version of the P17, built by Slawa at SW1X. They don't come much better than this when built with vintage Alnico drivers

John Busch's stand mounted Manzanita and floor standing Ultra are pretty easy and inexpensive builds.  Nice sounding, too.

Follow the links in the first post to the current version of the speakers.  They have been updated and refined for over 10 years.
