Thanks James,
I was thinking the ortofon 2m black but I also heard that the Hana sh would be great. I am concerned about the output being a 2mv mc vs the 5mv mm of the ortofon. This will be connected to a BR20 with the phono card.

The extra gain certainly works in your favour.
On the 2mv MC is that a high output MC?

I have the Black myself and it works great.

Hey James,
on the 2m black specs Recommended load capacitance 150-300 pF
on the Bp-2 mm/mc Phono stage, what would you set the jumpers at inside the unit?

The setting for the pf values on the Bp-2 can only go in 100pf increments.
so 200 pf would work?

hi James, yes you are correct the Hana 2h is a High output moving coil.

I have another question about the BLP1. I am looking at puchasing a used one from a dealer and it comes with the gold note power supply rather than the bryston power supply.  He said that is the way it came and that the bryston was just re badged. Is that correct or did someone likely change the power supply.  I guess the other half of the question is would this still be ok

Ortofon Quintet Black S here, very happy with it.

BTW in case anybody wants to add anti-skating... the currently-sold Gold Note anti-skate kit works fine with the version of the B7 Arm on the BLP-1, however, once installed the supplied dust cover is just a tad too low. I am in the process of ordering another one.

What benefit wiill the anti-skating have?

P.s. I’m using a Hana ML and I’m quite impressed by it’s fullblooded sound.
