That case is more what I'm looking for. I like it to be quite and have a low key pilot light. Does the NEC meet those criteria?

That case is pretty versatile, if can put any internal drive 3.5" in it, read the details specs just for sure.

Thank you 95bcwh and John. I missed the 400GB deal but was able to get a 300GB and a NEC case. I would like to get at least two of the 300GB at that price, but they put a limit on it. Anyway, this will help me last a bit longer. Right now, there are only 60GB left on each of two 300GB HDs I have.

I don't understand why this kind of casing cost so much..it's just a bunch of plastic with some wiring..why cost >$400..

Didn't see that the drive was IDE... Nevermind about that SATA NAS enclosure.
Barry... Any purpose-built specialized piece of gear will cost more than other non-standard multi-use devices. You can always build your own and save all that money.... and instead spend your time making it work the way you want... like anything else, really..

If you want cheap solution, then go with USB external case but there is a limitation.
