Did the tubes give you any trouble?

What battery are you going to use?

Hopefully mine is on my porch....

-Tony

No trouble with tubes.

I'm going to use this battery:  http://www.power-sonic.com/site/doc/prod/96.pdf

I'm sure yours it waiting for you...

I just got it out and took pictures and installed the tubes.  I will report back when I get it up and running.
I'm thinking that mine will be here in Albuquerque on Friday  aa

Hope everyone have the battery fully charged.  :D
A friendly remind: Do not use any kind power supply to run your battery powered tube Dodd gears, have to be a fully charged 12v battery.
Let me know if you want a good deal AGM battery for a great deal (if they still have it)

I actually emailed Gary to ask about using a power supply to break in the amp.
I have one from parts express that specified at 12v for 2amps....

http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=120-536

Why doesn't this work?

I don't know why it won't work, I don't really know all the technical detail, but I heard Gary himself talk about that, Please let me know what Gary reply to your email.

There's no reason that shouldn't work.  Assuming, that is, you can get or create the right connector.  I looked on the Dodd website but don't see a picture of the back of the buffer.

Well, the other end is terminated with moderately sized alligator clips.

And Gary said yes it will work ok on this power supply. Not optimal for performance. But I just want to run the thing for a while without the battery and recharging, etc...

So can't wait to get it going tonight.

Here is the battery / charger that I'll be using.  If I like this Buffer as much as I hope, I will then make a aluminum box with a power on / off selector for the battery and charger.
