Can I survive without my A-5"s
« on: 27 Oct 2011, 08:38 pm »

I'm ready to give up my Altec A-5 Voice of the Theater sound system.

I've had them for about ten years now and along the way added a few mods.

They are 828 cabinets with 515GHP drivers, the horns are 803B Multicell horns
with Altec 299-8H divers, I also added a Coral horn tweeter for upper end. The Crossover is a
500hz Altec design with Foil air-coils and Oil and film caps.

Here's a few pics in my gallery !

I would like to offer them to a GAS member at a low price if they come pick them up!
   PM me for info.

If not they'll go on ebay!.....   I need a little more room in the basement!

I wonder if our resident speaker whore, I mean MerRev has room for them. If it wasn't such a long drive from Florida I might be tempted myself. The good woman would kill me if I brought a pair of those home. I still have the spare bedroom full of boxes from the move and I've nowhere to put the stuff.
