No, I don't know anything about Decibel.  I was, however, very impressed with Pure Music especially when DSD files were streamed right to the DAC.  It does on the fly DSD to PCM conversion at various resolutions but I liked it better straight into the DAC.

Same... I don't have experiences with Decibel but Pure Music sounds very good on my Mac Mini!

I use Decibel with my Tranquility SE. It's excellent. Much more open and detailed than iTunes. I haven't tried Pure Music or Amarra. So, my response is as useless as the others!

Have not had the chance to audition Decibel.  Have been extremely pleased with PM.

i just used the free trial for both when setting up my new mac mini (8 mb ram with lion) HTPC through a HRT music streamer II dac. i went with PM over decibel. i liked the itunes interface (although the decibel interface might appeal more to someone that likes a simple, no frills interface). the PM also sounded much better (caveat: i would assume that being digital systems you could get both to sound pretty much identical. i went through all the system tweaks and setups on PM and ran decibel bone stock). i am really quite pleased/amazed at how good my setup sounds. should have done this years ago  :duh:

I preferred PM as I like to be able to use iTunes as my interface. I also think PM sounds excellent and the upsampling feature is quite good.

I tried most of them and ended up with Amarra mini.  Just try it for free as this is really depends on your system and taste.   :thumb:

I use Decibel.  I don't have experience with PM or Amarra, but I use Decibel for two reasons:

1)  It's very inexpensive.  Yes, the interface is basic, but it does everything I need it to do and it sounds great.
2)  Decibel can be set to play tracks from memory.  Data for the track is buffered into RAM and played back from there.  This is important to me as I use it to stream music over wi-fi from an NAS in another room to an iMac connected to the stereo.  Since the track data is buffered, I get gap-free, glitch-free playback over wi-fi.
