This is my first post. Nice board, ive had some good reading! Ive been especially interested in the Panny XR45 posts.

But anyways, now back to my question. Ive been offered to buy a Yamaha DSP-A1 amp. The olde Yamaha flagship. It will be mine for about $570.

My question is, is it worth the money? It does have DD, DTS, but not Pro Logic2. Personally i think it fits my needs, but on the other hand i could buy a Marantz SR-6300 for the same price! Is the DSP-A1 worth the money, is the value good?

It is a very good processor. I currently own one now. But, I'm planning to upgrade because the display on the DSP-A1 already went out on me. The unit still works well. I have M&K speakers and it really sounds good specially if you're into watching movies.
