As of right now my speakers are 3 LS9's for my fronts and center, N3S as side surrounds and Rocket RS250's as rear surrounds.

My brother in law is a handy man and is going to build some speakers for me.

Ideally I will move the N3S to the rear surround location. So I am undecided on what to do on the sided. Positives for the 0-3 is for movies, games etc. Positives for the LS-C's would be for multichannel music and matching drivers.

Honestly I'm 80-20 home theater over multi channel music. I'd like something more full range like the LS-C however, but I want the diffuse soundfield of the 0-3.

Help make up my mind please

Go with the O-3's since you are unlikely to find anything better for surrounds.  The design allows for the sound to be very spread out and difficult to localize, which is perfect as a surround.

Keep in mind that the signal being sent to those speakers are still a rear channel mixed signal So ideally you will still want those speakers to be located behind the listening position.

A wall mounted A/V-1RS has been the best solution for those application most of the time, including the rear speakers.
