Amp Options for V2
« on: 23 Oct 2011, 04:17 pm »
Hello,
Can folks recommend amps for v2 which will be used in multi purpose room both for 2-channel and HT and it needs to be user friendly especially so kids can turn it on and off.  I will be using with Response Audio Bella L/P 12au7 based preamp.  The room in question will is 30' long, 12' 6" wide and about 7' for the height.  The speakers are around 5' 6" from the front wall (might have another 6" or so to play with) and the sitting position would be around 13' or so.  Distance from the side wall is around 30" or so
TIA

V2's are very easy speakers to drive, almost any quality amp with 30 or more watts will sound great.

Thanks Tyson.  Does the amp have to be tubes or will a good solid state work.  With kids around I have my doubts about the tube amp and constantly worried about potentially blowing tubes, etc.  My kids like to turn the music on and dance :-)

Good SS will work.  The V2's really aren't fussy, they will sound good with almost any amp of good quality.

Any good SS ones you have heard with your v2?
