I checked it out,and it wants a code for the streaming.  I sent them my info, which I don't like to do (database building).  Hope they let me listen.
What is that car he is leaning against? Is is a 1967 Chrysler Newport?
And who is the fellow in the background in this photo? I can get Patti Smith, Tom, and Steve Earle, but who is that last guy?

I'm a new Tom Waits fan.  I got Closing Time and can't stop playing it.  I'll have to check out his new one.  Thanks for the heads up.

Keep in mind there has been some time between then and now...Toms changed a bit.

Mule Variations is a great mid way album.

That's my buddy Lenny Kaye with Tom Waits in the photo.
I've got to take a run up there and get some amps from him soon.
Pre-ordred the Waits album on vinyl some time back - it sounds like a good one.

Another fan of Tom here.

Toms changed a bit.

Now that is an understatement!

On Glitter and Doom, his voice was gone gone gone.  I'm curious to hear what it's like now.

Steve,
Thanks for the photo information.  I can't believe I didn't match that face.
And it blows my mind that Steve Earle is married to Shelby Lynne's little sister, and they had their first child last year.
Either there's hope for old codgers like me, or I got to start writing albums like "Train A Comin'"

Got the downstream code this morning in my email.  Going to give a listen tonight. I'm stoked for the new Tom Waits album.
For the new Tom Waits listener, who picked up "Closing Time", I also recommend "Rain Dogs"

If you don't want to give up your email address, go here:

http://www.tomwaits.com/albums/#/albums/album/34/Bad_As_Me/

This will get you to a full listen of two tracks off the record.

Thanks, Mike.
But the deed is done.  I am listening to the downstream right now.  Like three, maybe four of the new cuts on first listen.
He is touching base on all of his styles.
Can't believe he has been happily married since 1980, with three children.
Never know that from his usual lyrics. 8)

Mike, another question.  As some posters asked above, how does one ascertain the down streaming properties? As in the quality?
I sure don't know how to do it. Just glad to get it.

Re: Mr & Mrs Waits...Eh, he found the right person. Sometimes, it's like that. I think Kathleen keeps him honest, and that allows him to channel a bit more through The Muse accordingly.

As for streaming properties...I'm not aware of a way that you could determine that when using an embedded player. Applications like WireTap Studio, etc. will allow you to record the stream, but I don't know if any will do it natively (meaning, the recording will be in the original format / sample rate / bit depth).

A bit of a related tangent, fwiw, Shelby Lynne is playing tonight in my home town at Mississippi studios.  Jeff Dorgay of TONEAudio is there now, covering the show.  You can see photos posted starting now on their FB feed at dub dub dub.facebook.com/TONEPUB2.  Saw her show last year and wow, what an exceptional artist.  Look for her interview and the show coverage in the next issue or two.

Your friend & big fan of all these artists (Steve Earle, TW, Shelby and Alison)

There's a very funny video (if you like Waits's sense of humor) on Amazon regarding the release of the new album.

I think that they're chucking in the CD version and a booklet as well with mine.
