Moscode 300
« on: 17 Oct 2011, 08:40 pm »
Not sure if this is the right place for this post, but thought it was worth a shot. I have 2 Moscode 300's that George Kaye turned into mono amps. How would I find out their value? I need to sell them. I tried emailing George but no reply?

Thanks,

Mark

I'll give you $100 for each, and I'll pay shipping!  How's that for the high range of value?

I've often wondered about Mono Moscode 300s.  I have a stereo version that I love.  What is the output on the monoblocks?

I'd maybe ask the price of a used 401 or 402 and come down as needed.

Thunderbrick, I'll be honest I don't know what the output is on them. They were my brothers and he passed away. I want to sell them toward his child's inheritance.

S Clark, I just don't think they have that value. I looked up used value on the 2 you mention and the cheaper of the 2 has a value of $2300. I used to own one of them and they are nice sounding in stereo form as well as mono. I've listened to them at my brothers a number of times and they are sweet.

Thanks,

Mark

It would depend on how much work George did when he modified these.  Having twin monoblocks would have advantages that the 401-2 series don't.  If he brought the caps up to new specs, upgraded wiring and connectors, I could see these competing at the  $2K range.  Now if they are just two 300's then they are worth about $800.

Here is a picture of one of them. I can see some of the wire was changed, not sure about anything else. Maybe someone who owns one could comment.

Thanks!
