B60 Internal DAC
« on: 13 Oct 2011, 02:29 am »
James or anyone that knows,

Lots of questions from a newbie...

What is the price to upgrade a B60 with the internal DAC?
Has the DAC been updated since it's release?
What would it compare with in terms of external DACs on the market ?
How does it compare to the BDA-1

Laird,
I'm interested to see the answers to your questions.  Along with many others, I love my BDA-1.

Let us know what you decided.

Hi Laird

I think $1295

No the DAC is the same as it always has been in the B60- 44.1/16 bit

Loaded question :thumb:

BDA-1 is capable of all the way up to 192/24 - so if CD quality is all you require the B-6o internal DAC will be excellent.  if you see yourself going to higher res music or multiple digital sources the BDA-1 external DAC is the much better choice.

Thanks.  I'm getting the BDA-1.  From everything you can read it seems a better choice.  I can also keep it if I upgrade the amp (no plans for that though 60W is enough for me) or swap it if I choose later.
