Classic Bearing Cup Leaking
« on: 13 Oct 2011, 02:17 am »
Hi,
I'm new here so thanks for not pwning the noob too hard just yet, m'kay?
Anyway, I picked up a Classic on the second hand market a few months back.  Great sounding deck, but the main bearing is leaking oil through one or more of the set screw style bearings.
I was able to stop the leaking with plumber's tape on the threads, but one of them is leaking again.  I fixed it with plumber's tape again so it seems OK for now, but my confidence is not great in this solution.
I'm wondering if anyone here has experienced this issue?  If so, how did you solve it?
One benefit from this is that I have become somewhat skilled at adjusting the bearings just right so that they run smoothly.
Cheers,
Peter

someone is selling WTT parts including the bearing cup which you say is/was leaking damaged.
do you know which bearing cup you have?
Do you have the standard or the upgraded bearing cup
What is on sell below is the standard bearing cup
