Well, they definitely get the cool-looking speaker award! Gotta wonder though how that ribbon blends with the woofers. Also, at 1" wide, it's gonna beam . . .

Since both, woofers and ribbon work in a dipole mode, there shouldn`t be a problem.

"Also, at 1" wide, it's gonna beam . . ."

And 1" dome tweeters or ESL speakers at a few feet width don`t beam? Come on...

When distribution is organized, the prices will be known, as usual...
But you can contact the manufacturer directly..

It certainly looks the goods.
I would love to find out what it sounds like.
The price would also be good to know.
It is great to see a speaker that appeals to the eyes as well, ...
And if its a planar, ...
What could be better!

The reviews on the larger IMPULSE at CES 2011 were good...

This one must first go through testing and last finishing touches..

Interesting design. I played around with putting some of the Monsoon planar drivers in a more-or-less oblate spheroid waveguide flare, and the results were extremely promising. It looks like they've coupled the waveguide idea with a tapered baffle to distribute the diffraction signature somewhat.  Could be a very nice speaker.
