System dialed in and ready to go...
I visited Rick every day at the show. The CBT's and DEQX are the real deal! After listening to these, it was hard to listen to anything else at the Show, other than the other DEQX room.
Imagine one with RAAL ribbons...
Maybe they sound best when curved?
Yes they do. Not to say a straight line cannot perform well but the curve and shading give the best results.
Hi Rick, great to see you again this year! Wish we could have stayed a bit longer but we were on a mission! My system is linked in my profile if anyone feels like checking it out....
Yes, the curved array is the real deal. However those thumb sized tweeters fit the curve well, and the Raal's are considerably larger. Would you have to bend the faceplate or something?
I've been wondering if any of the "popular" audio magazines would have coverage of the CBT arrays. Saw this mention in Stereophile. JA likes them. http://www.stereophile.com/content/don-keele-constant-directivity-crt36-speakerCongrats on the good reviews.Chuck
Yeah, now if only someone would recognize your contribution!
Question if I may - shading (amplitude of drivers) of the array is done passively?
Other than me programming the DEQX the CBT-36 show demo was all the work of Audio Artistry. My real contribution will be the new design with the RAAL ribbons.
Yes, passively (though I also have used multiple amp channels with gain adjustment available on each one).
