Well, it's a ZZ Top kinda station I would think.  Laura says the call letters began with an X so it might very well be.

Check this out.

The best stations are always on the far left end of the dial, no?  When I used to travel with work, once I got in the rental car and turned on the radio, that's where I would peruse.  In Omaha, for example, it was folk music.  In New Orleans, it was jazz.  And so on.

Mr. Nomad, Hi.  We used to have Univ of Rice radio with the most eclectic library beyond anything.  Right?

KISW 99.9 Seattle or KISW.com

They have a talk show in the afternoons called "The Men's Room" and they are a culture unto themselves. They even have their own beer. HUGELY popular in the area, very funny and witty. Takes a bit to get into but hooks you.

They also have a show on Saturday nights called Metalshop, which I find critical for finding interesting new metal bands.

But now I have a Squeezebox touch and lots of stations to explore and choose from!

So do I, thus the question. :thumb:

It's been fun listening to the various stations listed so far; I hope we get more. I also hope that a bunch of AC'ers not in North America list their favorite stations, too. With the cool World Radio function of the Touch, I'd love to listen to some of the favored international frequencies that our membership enjoys.  :thumb:

Have fun,

Jerry

Hey, Mr. Goulding. Sure, we had KTRU, (I'm listening to part of their library right now on the web at ktru.org), and we still have KPFT. Both suffer, to varying degrees, from what I'll charitably refer to as Lack of Standards.

Both stations have some excellent shows. Clint's midweek show on KTRU, Blues In Hi-Fi is my favorite-ever radio program. However, there is a lot of programming (and DJ behavior) that is simply a wank.

KTRU's biggest problem was that they were a collage radio station without a Comm Department. Talk about no skin in the game. If I start on about KPFT, I'll wind up seething... Getting. Off. Soapbox. Now.
