WTB: Quality Tube Tester

Anyone have a clean unit they want to sell? Need to test 6DJ8, EL34, and 2A3.

Will even consider an Amplitrex.

Thanks.

Have you considered the Transcendent Sound tube analyzer?

This tester is probably more accurate then most testers you'll find (except Amplitrex) as it tests the tube at a voltage closer to the tubes operating voltage.

I have a Transcendent.

It is good for small signal tubes, just OK (at best) for power triodes, and not too good for power pentodes as it has significant limitations at testing under "real world" conditions of plate and screen voltages.

If you can afford an Amplitrex get one as there is nothing else comparable that is generally commercially available.  If you don't, then you will spend a lot of money to ultimately figure out that you should have.

It depends what you want to do with a tube tester and the amount of use it will get. If testing the tubes you use and maybe selling a few, a Jackson 648S is a very nice tester and has a very nice noise test. Cost of the tester and calibration may cost $500. My 2 cents.

The sooner I sell off my tube stash the sooner I'll start thinking about letting the AT1000 go : )

Seems like there are a few of us who'd be interested in a used Amplitrex.  They don't come up on the used market very often, it seems.

PM sent to Santacore. Leaving sooner than I thought.

I have an inventory of tubes that I am updating as I have sold some out of it.

I would like a quick sale and I think based on what I have for tubes, AT1000 adapters and the AT1000, $4600 shipped is very reasonable for a bulk sale since the retail on the tubes is around 6K alone. Got a ton to do and won't have time for buying and selling tubes over there so who's gonna step up  :thumb:
