Steve:I just saw your post and the Touch must have a software alteration for the USB port to fuction as an output. w/o that alteration w/ factory settings, the USB is an input only.
Since the internal Touch DAC (the AKM 4420) can convert the files w/o problem and the Bel Canto works w/ 24/48 files.
Thanks Steve for the links! What does DAD mean?Mark
DVD audio and it is very different from PCM or flac. The BC DAC2 is from 2002 or so when things like this weren't very common. Larry
Take a look at the how to rip hi-rez thread in the Hi-Rez circle. The DAD you have may be an MLP (Meridian Lossless Packed) disc vice a PCM disc. There are also HDADs (Alan Parsons) that have a 24/96 layer on one side and a 24/192 layer on the other.DVDAExplorer and DVD Audio Extractor are the 2 programs. DVDAExplorer is used to rip the proprietary MLP layer off of DADs and HDADs. This is converted to WAV and can then be converted to whatever you want using DBPoweramp (FLAC, ALAC, etc.)What disc is it that you are having problems with? It sounds like you're trying to feed MLP to the DAC vice WAV, etc.
