As the title says Ive just brought me a technics SL 1210 MK II to kick start my way into playing vinyl, all being well it should be here in the next few days and Ill report back on my findings. Ive also brought me a Cambridge Audio 640 P Phono stage

  Well, that's a good start.

   I started out with zero LP back in the early '90s that when I got a TT and now about 40% of my music are on vinyls.

As requested here's a few pics, currently using a Shure SC35C cartridge, must admit sounds pretty good, Im going to get me a AT 95E cart, these are supposed to be a pretty good cart for the money. Overall the 1210 is a very good TT for the money

What alignment do you have it in? Your cartridge screws look to be in an odd position.

The screws are only temporary I'm still waiting for a kit to come from eBay so I can get the cart properly aligned, I'm also contemplating an AT 95SE. Even with the cart slightly out of alignment (best I can get with these screws) it still sounds pretty good!

i was thinking the same...

cartridge alignment tool and a tracking force gauge are good tools to have especially when you start to move up to more "exotic" styli...  Oh and by the way you have officially been infected by the Vinyl bug!
