I am expecting my Tempest to be shipped soon as well. I'm getting a partial Extreme - the new transformer, but not the SL board. I do not have a tt.

If you don't have a tt then you don't need to upgrade the transformer. I might be wrong but that is my understanding from a brief conversation with Klaus.

if i remember klaus said that the trans upgrade was ok without the new board-just not a huge increase-in my case i didnt need it(cheap ass bastard).

Yes, Klaus was cautious to assign much added value to the transformer upgrade if not connecting a turntable. But most of us are past that knee in the value-to-cost curve anyway with most of our equipment, so WTF. Klaus did clearly keep me away from the SL board.
