That's what camera strap/sling is for!, something like Blackrapid or cheaper on eBay. http://www.blackrapid.com/product/camera-strap/rs-sport-2/
It kind of depends on how much you want to spend. If you are looking for something better than a point and shoot, yet not quite ready to step into a dSLR, maybe you should consider one of the prosumer types, a bridge camera. They are the cameras that look very much like a dSLR, but you cannot remove the lens. Most are full featured, yet smaller than your typical dSLR. Read the reviews on whatever camera you decide on. My favorite website for camera reviews is. . . http://www.steves-digicams.com/
Well here are some of the cameras I am going to look into -DSLRCanon T2i/550DNikon 3100 Canon EOS Rebel T3icompact SLRPanasonic Lumix DMC-G3Sony NEX5n
On the other hand, the early photos of Sony NEX-7 plus Sony E-mount 50mm f/1.8 lens (only $299!) are looking mighty tasty, and I probably will end up with this combo, not the kit lens or the expensive Zeiss 24mm. Sample photos:
The NEX7 with lens starts at $1200.
Not 100% sure but after some more reading a Bridge Camera may be a better fit for me for now.Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX100V Digital CameraCanon PowerShot SX40 HSPanasonic Lumix DMC-FZ150Nikon Coolpix P500FujiFilm FinePix HS20 EXRThe Panasonic seems to get all the love out there. More reading to do though.
That *is* a problem, but not when you think in terms of mid-level DSLR pricing terms. Actually, the NEX-5N really should be awesome with the 50mm f/1.8 lens as well at much lower price.
I just saw the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ47 on sale at one of the good US net store's for $190 with coupon.
well I ended up ordering the FZ150 on saturday as I found another %15 off at J&R which brought it down to like $340 shipped.Looks like it will be here on Monday the 12th. Also ordered up to 16gb sdhc cards for it.Will eventually probably order a spare battery for it as well.
Is there a good book/website to read up on understanding iso/aperture/shutter speed etc and when/when not to use what?
