For all of you into odd music, William Shatner has a album coming out in a few weeks. Seeking Major Tom. Even available on vinyl. Amazon has previews... as disturbing as you might expect.

Apparently I am a masochist, I pre ordered from Amazon. It will be here in time for RMAF, just imagine the look of horror when queuing up some of those tracks on someones $150K system.  :icon_twisted:

Scott F., I know you want one too. We share the same fondness for the odd and disturbing.

Maybe even the first vinyl on your new TT  :thumb:

As much as I'd like to be there this year, this is one "highlight" I'll be glad I missed.

Is Ben Folds involved again? If so, it's a must purchase.

I would love to turn Space Truckin loose on an unsuspecting party.  William Shatner has outdone himself on this album.  How did he get so many great artists to play with him?

To paraphrase McCarthy-era attorney Joseph Welch, "Has Shatner no sense of decency?"   :duh:

Shouldn't this thread be titled "What fresh Hell is this? Volume III".

mods..., can this be changed?

Bob

p.s. By the way, I think I gave some Shatner vinyl to Scott F. a couple years ago.
And he loved it.

Oh, man!  That's....really AWFUL! :duh:

Did anyone check out the clip of Spirit in the Sky?

I may have to download this one just so I can sneak it into the mix on her iPod...after I change the album and track names to something she might want to listen to!

DUDE, That's AWESOME!!!!

I'm sorry, I find Bill (we're on a first name basis) sorta like Weird Al. You have to listen to it with a sense of humor. Lord knows he can't be possibly be taking himself seriously especially doing a cover of Iron Man.

Now, when you listen to his last release Has Been, there is something going on there. He wrote and sang (talked really) a couple of songs that had to be really hard to write and share with the world. He did one about finding his wife dead in the pool (actually happened) and how he ruined his relationship with his daughter who now wants nothing to do with him. It's sort of hard to listen to when you know the background story.

Bob, I wouldn't say I loved it  but like Mike mentioned, it's just weird enough to get my attention.

Speaking of weird, Hey Mike, did you get a chance to listen The Complete Works of Goober and the Peas yet?

So I just followed the link and the shot of his face in the helmet made me lol.

Listened to a few cuts.  20 tracks, impressive.  Vinyl?  really?

I pondered this, but face it, this Hell just ain't that fresh at this stage...
