Ok, here's the deal. I've had a couple of instances where an owner of an iRoc has upgraded to the new DAC-41. For those of you that don't know, I designed and built/manufactured the iRoc for a couple of years a number of years ago. The MSRP on these in the day was $1495 and they generally went out the door at a grand.
The iRoc uses a PCM2707 in self powered mode - meaning it doesn't use USB power. 16/44.1k Redbook or 48k DVD. The dac chip is the TDA1543, a non-oversampled design, and the i/v is an early version of what's found in my later designs. The power supply is a linear wall wart. The casework on the units in question is in really nice shape. The output jacks are Cardas and the coupling caps are AudioCaps.
Before anyone asks, yes battery power of 12 volts is possible.
