I only visit here occasionally, found the Syren speakers on the website, but no mention anywhere of them.  I know Klaus would rather work or talk over the phone, but what's up with that?

Their size/price seem about right for my 2nd audio system in the living room where I cannot pull the speakers out like the Lorelei speakers need.  The living room space is open to dining, foyer, 2nd floor loft, and kitchen (about 11,000 cu. ft) but the speakers are inches from the wall behind, a side wall, and a 3 drawer CD storage cabinet between them where the source/integrated amp are. 

Listening is occasional/casual/low volume: all sorts of classical, small jazz, and various pop.

Maybe Klaus needs a volunteer moderator here to direct AC traffic.

That's just the way it is, and you have to accept the business model if you want to buy Odyssey equipment.
 
You must be looking at a different website than I am, www.odysseyaudio.com, (I think there is also a Mexico location site?), but the Syren I am looking at says "Coming soon" and has unknown size and weight.  It does say they are Usher drive units, but no indication of driver size, sensitivity, impedance or frequency response.

The Syren are a smaller version of the Loreleis,  even though they are a little deeper in the footprint.
Idea was to get 85 % of the Lorelei performance for $ 1k less.  That's also why we used to use the Usher drivers,  as they are dead on copies of the ScanSpeaks.  However,  that was then,  the new much higher pricing of the Ushers is now, which puts me in a bind a little, and I have to get back to the Syren issue at the end of the year.

Reality is that in the past 1 - 2 years  we only sold a few handful of Syrens,  compared to 10 x +  the amount of Loreleis. 
I didn't really push the Syrens either($1,500 - 2,000  seems to be a very contested area that is not 100 % taken by audiophiles in the know),  as we're now fully concentrating on the Kismet line.  Hint,  we'll be introducing our new Kismet reference monitors in Denver.
No holds barred form and function,  Revelator and Beryllium tweeters and Mundorf and TS Premium and WBT and Alphacore and Riedons and Sonicaps............  Let me put it this way as I'm still voicing the puppies:

Klaus I'm surprised you sold any based on almost no published information.  Question: do all audiophiles have deep pockets?

Yup,  we have had sales from the shows, and then from friends of the owners,  etc.
As for deep pockets,  man,  why do you think we do have the Khartago for $ 895.
Of course that's what we do in the first place.

In this price range there are a lot of very good products,  and a ton of big commercial names, that will attract non-audiophiles,  or let's say less high end informed customers first.  As for us here in this hobby,  there are also a ton of choices,  and I found that there is definitely a saturation point in the $ 1,500 price range for speakers.   Again,  we are a small family business with limited product output and resources.  For me,  there are other priorities,  but also,  I want to make sure that we have a bang for the buck for our customers in several different price ranges,  of course.  Some are just better than others,  that's reality.

Don't forget Klaus' great customer service and unimpeachable integrity. I'm experiencing the opposite of that with another vendor / piece of gear.
