Mod services in the Philly metro area
« on: 21 Sep 2011, 03:16 pm »
Can anyone recommend a mod service provider in the Philly area? I am looking to get two V-Cap OIMP's that I just purchased from VH-Audio installed in my Havana DAC and I would prefer not to do any shipping if possible. Southern NJ is also OK.
thanks,
Dave

In the old days, we used to call people that could solder an electronics technician. (i.e. not a "modder")

I expect a decent electronics repair and service company should be able to handle it.  These guys seem to do repairs and even know something about tubes and restorations:

Thanks wilysnet, I'l call and talk to them, it shouldn't really be a big issue as it seems to be a pretty starightforward modification..

I'm a little late on this one, but I've been using Audio-Tronics‎ for about 10 years now.  Alex may very well already have his unit done, but perhaps the info might be useful to someone else.  A one man shop that has always gone above and beyond to repair the several items I've taken to him.  (Wish I could remember his name, I always lose his card)

Thanks letitroll, much appreciated. I actually haven't gotten it together to contact anyone but your solution sounds perfect as it's just across the river from where I work. I'll give him a call to discuss installing the OIMP V-Caps in my Havana.
cheers,
